Update: ChatGPT plugins no longer receive support from OpenAI. This has been preventing us from fixing some bugs and issues for some time.

We recommend you to use Keymate.AI GPT instead, to get the benefits you got from our plugin.

ChatGPT works within content filters defined by OpenAI. It will hold back from using URL links Keymate provides if those links deemed sensitive or highly moderated.

When this happens, instead of using the valid links we provide, it might make new ones up, or hallucinate URLs based on its past knowledge. These invalid URLs will cause 404 errors.

Alternative Case

On the screenshot below, you can see that Keymate returns "title" "link" and "summary", but ChatGPT doesn't access links Keymate.AI Search provides. It creates a redirection layer between the link provide and ChatGPT conversation.

You can remove this redirection layer by purchasing our Ultimate plan which gives direct links that Google returns to you.

ChatGPT sees ln.keymate.ai/example URL, and it doesn't know if this URL is related to your query. Therefore, it doesn't redirect you to the URL sometimes. It hallucinates other URLs instead. Please check below.

Below you can see that it responded with a link to BBC Weather. If you check the link Keymate.AI provided (https://ln.keymate.ai/59J8o6) you will see that it was a redirect link to a relevant page on weather.com, not BBC weather.

ChatGPT did not know this, and tried to make sense of the situation and hallucinated a 'probable' source.

This is a good case, since ChatGPT hallucinated a valid URL. But often times, it will provide some link that goes nowhere, hence the 404 error.

To solve this issue you might consider purchasing a higher Keymate plan which removes redirection link completely and instead ChatGPT can read the proper URL. This way ChatGPT can provide the proper URL to your query, providing better answers and less hallucinations.

What if the URL Keymate provides has 404 error?

Keymate web search responses are based on Google Official Search & Browse API. If you try the URL in the original Keymate.AI link field and see 404 or bad link, this is likely due to a Google indexing error. The website owner might have changed the URL structure or the webpage. When this happens, the old URL that Google has indexed will stop working and provide a 404 error.

Google updates their index often, and they are good at that. But they might miss such momentary changes.
